Just northwest of UT Campus a brand new property has emerged in 2009 that hasn’t received as much attention as new West Campus projects such as the Vintage or 21 Rio, but should. It’s called the Buckingham Apartments, and as a quality, medium-sized new project with reasonable pricing, we think it’s a shame more UT students weren’t able to capitalize on the outstanding opportunity at the building this year. Set against the mature trees and quiet streets of West Avenue, the project offers a combination of amenities, location, conveniences, and style that’s unparalleled for the price in the neighborhood. The one and two bedroom floor plans come in an exciting two story option with living/kitchen down and bedroom up that’s among the most spacious and smartly equipped one bedrooms we’ve ever seen for the money - people were able to get into 1BRs for just over $900 and two bedrooms for just under $1400 this year!
Beyond the excellent amenities and outstanding construction at Buckingham, the location, which may first seem like a bit of a detractor for UT students, is truly the biggest selling point. Located at 32nd and West Avenue in northwest UT campus, the property is just a few blocks west of Guadalupe near restaurants, shopping, and RIGHT next to the Guadalupe southbound bus. It’s also about a 5-6 minute bike ride to campus or a breezy 10-12 minute walk. And what do you get for this small extra distance to morning classes? Peace, quiet, quality construction, and accessibility/desirability for a more diverse group of residents that includes young professionals and couples in addition to students. Surrounded by trees and nice older homes, the neighborhood offers something quite unique despite being so close to campus.
