Completed in 2004, the Texan West Campus is a quality apartment building designed to serve the needs of UT Austin students. It’s just 3 blocks from campus, offers garage parking and gated access for safety and security, has a rooftop pool, and has perhaps the most competitive pricing of any luxury apartment so close to campus. Each unit comes with cable and interest included in the rental price, offers a full-size washer and dryer (even in 1BRs), has stainless steel appliances, and offers views either east towards UT or west towards the Hill Country (don’t believe me? Everything about the Texan’s pricing and leasing policy is indicative of a company that doesn’t want to jerk students around or offer appealing specials only to let you down with a last-minute bait-and-switch. Deposits are never more than $400 per person, the application fee is only $75 bucks (as opposed to $250 for many of the newer campus offerings), and the application process is straightforward and stress-free. They also have a 24-hour service desk at The Castilian and a very responsive maintenance crew known for quick turnaround.

The Texan West Campus offers a variety of floor plans ranging from one to four bedrooms. The one bedrooms are extremely spacious, and the four bedroom four bath floor plan is among the largest in all of West campus at over 1600 square feet! All units offer 1 reserved parking spot available for each bedroom at either $125 per month or $1200 up front (save $400!). The 3/2 is also a great floor plan for sharing, as one of the bedrooms is large enough for two students looking to save some cash and accustomed to the proportions of a dorm room.
While the Texan West Campus is fully booked for August 2009 - Summer 2010 (it’s always one of the first properties to fill up!), the start of the next pre-leasing season is right around the corner, and we often have clients begin reserving their spots in the TWC as early of September of the previous year. Just FYI…if you live here be prepared to get screwed over with your deposit. I know myself and like 5 other groups of people that lived at the Texan had to pay twice what our deposit was at the end of the year because they supposedly “lost our damages form”. They said that to to 5 different groups of people that lived in different apartments…smart on there part…bad on ours.
